The Energy Cooperative's Propane for Life
Another great reason to use The Energy Cooperative's propane service is that by doing so, you will be supporting the American Breast Cancer Foundation. The Energy Cooperative has rolled out a pink Propane for Life truck. Starting July of 2011, for every gallon of propane delivered by our pink truck to propane members, The Energy Cooperative will donate one cent to the American Breast Cancer Foundation to support individuals that cannot afford screenings and/or treatments for breast cancer.
“We felt the Propane for Life truck would help promote breast cancer awarenessand this is one of our guiding cooperative principles, Concern for Community,” said Bob Herron, Manager of Propane Operations. “For every propane delivery made by the pink truck we will leave a pink ribbon on the propane tank to let our members know that by using our metered propane service they are giving someone a fighting chance to beat breast cancer.”
The American Breast Cancer Foundation is a national nonprofit organization committed to providing direct financial assistance to underserved individuals for screening and diagnostic tests to aid in the early detection and survival of breast cancer.

The Energy Cooperative's
Energy to Help Find a Cure
Giving back to help a cause that’s close to the hearts of members and employees is what “Energy to Help Find a Cure” is all about for The Energy Cooperative. The cooperative recently unveiled its newest addition to the propane vehicle fleet. But this one was not the typical white bobtail truck. The truck was detailed with large stripes of a lavender ribbon, signifying the fight against all cancers, and the logo “Energy to Help Find a Cure.”
For every gallon of propane delivered by the lavender truck to propane members, The Energy Cooperative will donate one cent to Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Contributions from the program will support oncologists and cancer researchers at The James and Solove Research Institute to perform research, create new knowledge and ultimately develop new methods of cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment.
“Cancer has touched the lives of most everyone in some way. We are proud to support this cause as well as raise awareness of cancer as our truck travels throughout our service area,” said Bob Herron, Propane Operations Manager for The Energy Cooperative. “For every propane delivery made by the lavender truck, our service technician will leave a lavender ribbon sticker on the members’ propane tank to let them know that by using the cooperative’s metered propane service, they are supporting the research so needed to find a cure for cancer,” Herron said.
Along with providing daily deliveries, both the “Energy to Help Find a Cure” lavender truck and the “Propane for Life” pink truck are available for public appearances upon request.
