The Energy Cooperative's Earth & Energy Day:
Spend a spring day with the family and visit The Energy Cooperative's Utica facility for Earth & Energy Day on Sunday, April 27th from Noon to 4:00 pm. Our Utica facility is located at 11338 Mt. Vernon Road, Newark, OH 43080 (across from Velvet Ice-Cream).
Activities will include earth science and energy displays, conservation and recycling displays, tree-planting and pruning tips, a kids' craft, safety demonstrations, a paper recycling truck*, refreshments and much more!
*Paper recycling is provided by Royal Document Destruction (RDD).Paper materials will be collected and recycled at an off-site location by RDD. Please remove metal clips, wires or binding from paper materials to be recycled.
Seminars will also be provided on Understanding Residential Wind and Solar in Ohio, with Richard Hiatt, President of the Rural Electric Resource Council and Performing Your Own Home Energy Audit, with Ray Crock, Energy Advisor with The Energy Cooperative.
Adult and Children's Goodie bags and Low-Growing Flowering Dogwood Trees available while supplies last. This event is open to members of The Energy Cooperative, their children and grandchildren. The Energy Cooperative's Annual Meeting of Members
The Energy Cooperative's 2014 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 19th. The meeting will be held at the Reese Center on the Ohio State University, Newark Campus at 1179 University Drive, Newark, OH 43055-1797. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. Business portion begins at 6:00 pm.
The Energy Cooperative's Kids Day
The Energy Cooperative will again host Kids Day at The Works in downtown Newark on Sunday the 22nd of June from noon to 4:00 pm. The Works, a local showcase for history, art and technology will open its doors for this special event being held in appreciation of the members of The Energy Cooperative and their families.
The day will provide a live radio broadcast, hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, balloons, games, pony rides, crafts, performances by a local band, a health clinic, glass blowing demonstrations, safety demonstrations and lots of interactive displays for children of all ages.
